Historic buildings

Briarcliff Manor, the village of Briarcliff Manor, maintains its ties to its history and highlights its heritage through a series events. To commemorate the 75th year of the village, the mayor established the Briarcliff Manor Scarborough Historical Society. The first meeting of the historical society took place in the Briarcliff Middle School. However, it was moved to the second floor after Pace University leased that building. Since then, the society has expanded its mission to include preservation of village architectures and historical history.

King's College

King's College's 1980 enrollment plummeted, its buildings were outdated, and poor financial decisions led to the college's closure. It was unable and unwilling to continue operations. The administrators tried to sell it, but Briarcliff Manor rejected the idea. Zoning laws restricted the potential for development on the campus. The future of the university was uncertain and it closed in 1994.
